Founded on 5th February 1969 by members of the then West Cameroon Police Force, BAPCCUL was created to promote thrift and mutual assistance.

In 1982, membership was extended to civilians under the slogan “Not for Police Only.” This expansion led to substantial institutional growth.

As of 2025:

• 28 Branch Offices
• Presence in 6 Regions
• Over 78,000 Members

Despite challenges such as the 1993 fire incident and the COVID-19 pandemic, BAPCCUL has demonstrated resilience, innovation, and sustained growth—expanding digital services and strengthening financial inclusion nationwide.
